CURRENT VACANCIES:

POSITION: Pre-Press Operator

SALARY: Competitive Salary

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create and amend artwork to customer supplied briefs/technical specifications and files
  • Produce accurate proofs for customer approval
  • Repro customer approved artworks for the lithographic process 
  • Check print ready files to customer approved/supplied file using digital comparator to ensure accuracy
  • Plan and multi-up files in accordance with the production work ticket
  • Perform content and quality checks to production files/proofs prior to sending files for printing plate production
  • Record activities accurately on departmental trackers
  • Provide technical support to customers wither by telephone or site visit if required
  • Provide support to QA Team for customer visits and audits
  • Ensure good working relationship with all internal and external staff/customers you come into contact with
  • Ensure working environment, which includes digital desktop as well as a physical desktop and office area, are kept clean and tidy at all times
  • During busy periods support where necessary within the department
  • Ensure adherence at all times to the Company’s Quality Assurance Policies and Procedures and maintain compliance to appropriate standards. 
  • The quality management system has been designed and developed to meet the requirements of ISO9001, PS9000, BRC, FSC and PEFC. The quality management system defines the Company’s policies and standard operating procedures on design, product security and safety, hygiene, environment, resource and training. 
  • Carry out work safely in the interest of other employees and themselves, in compliance with legislation and Company Environmental, Health and Safety  procedures to including general housekeeping
  • Any other tasks associated with the role, which are suited to the individuals abilities and level of training as directed by their Line Manager 
ROLE REQUIREMENTS:
  • Excellent knowledge of artwork, repro and pre-press software and processes. This is to include Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop and Acrobat etc)
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Excellent eye for detail
  • Good communication skills 

ESSENTIAL:

  • GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent)

HIGHLY DESIRABLE:

  • Esko ArtPro and Automation Engine

POSITION: Lithographic Printer – PILS Department

We are looking to recruit Lithographic Printer for PILS on the day shift. You must be willing to cover holidays/other absences on other shifts.

As a Lithographic Printer you will carry out the safe and efficient operation of multi-colour printing presses, ensuring the highest quality standards and output volumes.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Operate Heidelberg SM74 and SM75
  • Ensure all work ticket instructions and jobs specifics are followed and correct materials used
  • Produce high quality printed products and be accountable for own work
  • Utilise skills and experience to maximise production output
  • Liaise where necessary with internal departments to ensure jobs are produced correctly and on time
  • Carry out routine maintenance of press as per manufacturer’s recommended guidelines to ensure safe and efficient machine operation
  • Ensure SOP’s and company procedures are adhered to at all times
  • Ensure adherence at all times to the Company’s Quality Assurance Policies and Procedures and maintain compliance to appropriate standards
  • The quality management system has been designed and developed to meet the requirements of ISO9001, PS9000, FSC and PEFC. The quality management system defines the company’s policies and standard operating procedures on design, product security and safety, hygiene, environment, resource and training
  • Carry out work safely in the interests of other employees and themselves, in compliance with current legislation and company environment, health and safety procedures to including general housekeeping

EXPERIENCE:

ESSENTIALS:

  •  Minimum 5 years operating 4 colour Heidelberg or similar Litho Press, with at least 2 years multi-colours perfecting experience
DESIRABLE:
  • Experience with Heidelberg SM74, SM75 or Miyakoshi Web Printing Presses
  • Able to operate Guillotine, Folding and Associated Finishing Equipment
SKILLS:
ESSENTIAL:
  • Must be a fully qualified Lithographic Printer, fully conversant with all aspects of multi-colour leaflet or similar printed products
  • A good decision maker, able to work without supervision, and able to assess and solve day to day print production issues
  • Must be an excellent communicator and able to work in a team

SALARY: £31,312.17 basic salary + 40% shift allowance (£43,837.04)

DESCRIPTION:

We are looking to recruit a No 1 Printer to join our Print Department. As a No 1 Printer, you will carry out the safe and efficient operation of multi-colour printing and coating presses, ensuring the highest quality standards and output volumes.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Operate Komori 6 colour press with in-line coater and appropriate dry systems
  • Ensure all work ticket instructions and job specifics are followed and correct materials used
  • Produce high quality printed products and be accountable for own work
  • Utilise skills and experience to maximise production output
  • Liaise where necessary with internal departments to ensure jobs are produced correctly and on time
  • Carry out routine maintenance of press as per manufacturer’s recommended guidelines to ensure safe and efficient machine operation
  • Supervise the activities of other team members working on the press. Provide clear guidance and instruction where required to ensure safe working practices and smooth running of production
  • Ensure SOP’s and company procedures are adhered to at all times
  • Ensure adherence at all times to the Company’s Quality Assurance Policies and Procedures and maintain compliance to appropriate standards
  • The quality management system has been designed and developed to meet the requirements of ISO9001, PS9000, NRC, FSC and PEFC. The quality management system defines the company’s policies and standard operating procedures on design, product security and safety, hygiene, environment, resource and training
  • Carry out work safely in the interests of other employees and themselves in compliance with current legislation and company environmental, health and safety procedures to including general housekeeping

POSITION: Warehouse Administrator 

SALARY: £20,000 – £21,000 /annum 

HOURS: 37.5 hours per week on a permanent basic

WORK PATTERN: Monday – Friday 8.15am – 4.30pm

DESCRIPTION:

We are looking for a Warehouse Administrator to support our Transport Manager and dispatch team. 

As Warehouse Administrator, you will be an integral part of the warehouse team. You will assist in the organisation of transport, maintain accurate stock records, be proactive and strive to improve efficiency wherever possible. 

 

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support organisation of transport as required
  • Ensure POD’s are promptly received to allow invoicing to be completed 
  • Administration of pallet stock, ensuring stock is booked in, put away, transferred, ordered and scrapped as required, following company procedures
  • Update delivery tracker and distribute daily, within required timeframe
  • Control orders to and from supplier for ‘outwork’ 
  • Carry out weekly consumable stock take
  • Administration of delivery note, including scanning and updating
  • Provide occasional cover for warehouse operatives 

ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Administration 1 year 
  • Mathematics and English GCSE level or equivalent 

DESIRABLE

  • Counterbalance/Reach truck license 
  • Experience within warehouse/logistics/manufacturing environment

POSITION: Finishing Assistant / Production Operative 

SALARY: £21,985 – £25,426 /annum

HOURS: 36.6 hours per week on a permanent basic

25 days holiday + bank holidays off – Free parking on site 

AVAILABLE SHIFT PATTERNS: 

Double Days £19,117.80 basic salary + 15% shift allowance (£21,985.47)

Earlies (Week 1): Monday – Thursday 6am to 1.25pm, Friday 6am to 1pm 

Lates (Week 2): Monday – Thursday 1.20pm to 9pm, Friday 12.55pm to 6.55pm 

Night Shift £19,117.80 basic salary + 33% shift allowance (£25,426.67)

Monday – Thursday 8.55pm to 6.05am

ABOUT THE ROLE:

As a Finishing Assistant with Medica Packaging, you will be an essential member of our production team. Your role will be to ensure our flat cartons are safely loaded into the feed, move securely through equipment, carefully inspected and packaged according to customers’ individual requirement. As the last person to see our finished goods before the customer, attention to detail and high standards are essential.
